Basic Falling
Monday, 13th

A one-day workshop in the basics of falling and rolling, allowing you to gain confidence in trips, falls, rolls, diving rolls, and falling from low levels, such as tables, chairs, and set. Taught by Instructor Duncan Woodruff, of Sword&Scoundrel.
At the end of the day, what is learnt will be put together into an unarmed group fight, allowing students to put into practice the techniques learned during the day.

Bartitsu
A one-day workshop exploring the western Victorian martial art made famous by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's immortal character Sherlock Holmes.
Taught by Canterbury Medieval Combat instructor (www.medievalswordschool.co.uk) Jason Hulott, this incorporates the upright, gentlemanly method of Victorian self defence utilising everything from Jiu Jitsu, Single-Stick fighting, Pugilism, and more.

Intermediate Falling
A one-day workshop aimed at those with experience falling or who have attended the Basic Falling Workshop. Exploring further the principles of falling, from medium to high heights, and learning the safety principles of setting the fall, from box rigging and crash mats, to the techniques of falling in different scenarios.
Taught by Equity Fight Director Jack Stockdale.
10am-6pm.

Fencing Masterclass
A one-day workshop exploring the relationship between fencing and specific stage combat weaponry, notably foil & Sabre. Equity Fight Director and Level 3 Fencing Coach Jack Stockdale will lead the session, teaching a day of Foil & Sabre, relating it to the Small Sword & Sabre style encountered in the world of historical fight performance.
If, towards the end of the day, suitable experience, understanding, and physical demonstration permits, an exam in one of the fencing disciplines will be offered, allowing students the opportunity to grade with the British Academy of Fencing (BAF).

Wednesday, 24th

Choreography
-Pirate Day -
A one-day workshop allowing performers to explore and practice choreography with a range of weapons found in the Naval history of warfare and piracy, from Flintlocks to Cutlasses, Boarding Axes to Small Swords and Cudgels. The studio will be dressed with rigging, the space will be awash with piratical nonsense! Taught by Fight Directors Duncan Woodruff, Jack Stockdale, and Martyn August, this will encompass the many challenges faced in this style of performance combat, and reward students with a day practicing and performing choreography in true piratical fashion.
