THE WINTER COURSE!

The Crown in the North for Training, Sword & Scoundrel, in partnership with Jack of All Blade, present the Winter course in the North, at the illustrious Royal Armouries in Leeds and the Leeds Beckett University School of Arts. This course is the only one of its kind in the country, offering access to the archives to allow depth of study in the history and culture of weaponry, supporting the skills learnt in performance combat.

 

The Winter Course is a six day course, focusing on a variety of weapon styles which can be taken separately, or all together as an intensive course. The specific weapons are the following;

 

Standard; Rapier & Companion, Broadsword & Shield

Intermediate; Rapier & Companion, Sword & Shield

Advanced; Rapier & Companion, Sword & Shield

The options on this course are the following;

Archive day at the Armouries - 22nd

Rapier & Companion - 23rd, 24th (Study), 1st of Feb, Exam

Broadsword & Shield - 25th, 26th (Study),  1st of Feb, Exam

Both weapons, 22nd-26th (Study), 1st of Feb, Exam

This course runs in three sections. The first day, included, is optional, and a day of study at the Royal Armouries (an Archive tour is available for a limited number of students, ticketed at an additional £30.00). The remainder of training will be held at the Leeds Beckett University School ofArts, with the Exam held on the 1st of Feb. You may enrol on any level, provided you have attained 3 Merits at the previous level. 

This course is examined by ACTT.

The Deal Winter Course is a three day course, focusing on the Knife weapon syllabus Branch. The specific weapons are the following;

 

Standard; Knife

Intermediate; Knife vs Unarmed (Knife Qual)

Advanced; Knife & Rope

Specialisation: Available

Professionally recorded footage of your performance is included

(These may vary depending on numbers on the course). You may enrol on any level, provided you have attained 3 Merits at the previous level. 

This course is examined by ACTT.
